The Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 has immediate impact or likely to have on the work of the agency/department related to the prevention, investigation and prosecution of corruption such as the ability of staff to work remotely was not really smooth responding to this new context; the investigations were slow due to the delays of onsite collecting information and inviting involved persons for information hearing; especially the evidences are at risk to contaminate the virus. Within the year, ACU received complaints in total 587 including 193 anonymous (32.88%), and 362 with identity (61.67%), and half anonymous 32 (5.45%).
For actual practice in the pandemic stage of Covid-19, the ACU has made some changes to work routines and manners as follows:
-
Changing work mechanism by shifting to the softcopy mode through online platform and Group Chat Online to discharge duties such as complaint handling- strictly determining personnel in charge and performing tasks using softcopy platform, complaint analysis through Online Group Chat called E-BM (Electronic Breakfast Meeting) in which the complaint receiving officials need to study, collect information, and create an Online Group Chat and add competent experts or related higher management to check, provide legal advices, and finalize the decisions in the group. This practice has resulted swiftly and reduced great expenses on the uses of papers.
-
The institution has equipped and installed disinfection machine in place and for all incoming documents from various sources have been disinfected before passing to the officials in charge.
-
The officials discharge duties by maintaining social distancing, using masks properly, and washing their hands often by using hand sanitizers or soap.
Determining prioritized officials in charge of daily tasks to avoid any gatherings to ensure regular and safe operations.
