South-East Asian Parties Against Corruption (SEA-PAC) To Be An Entity Associated With ASEAN And Listed In Annex 2 Of The ASEAN Charter.
MACC as the host country for the 10th South-East Asian Parties Against Corruption (SEA-PAC) meeting has submitted the official request to the Secretary-General of ASEAN at ASEAN Secretariat office in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The idea for SEA-PAC to be an entity associated with ASEAN was mooted and agreed by all parties at the 10th Southeast Asia Parties Against Corruption (SEA-PAC) meeting which was held in Kuala Lumpur last year (2014). This request is made in line with the ASEAN purpose to enhance good governance as contained in Chapter I and Chapter II of the Article I of the ASEAN Charter. The official letter was duly submited by Senior Assitant Commissioner Karunanithy Y. Subbiah, the Head of International Relations Branch of MACC to Ms Leena Ghosh, Assistant Director, Promotion and Protection of Human Rights, Civil Society Engagements and Interaction with ASEAN Associated Entities Community Affairs Development Directorate, ASEAN Secretariat in Jaktara. Also present during the submission of the request was Mr. Adhi Adhi Setyo Tamtomo, International Cooperation Specialist, Directorate of Fostering Networks Between Commissions and Institutions of KPK Indonesia.
